Way down the eastern portion of Bonita Beach Road, miles away from the Gulf of Mexico, residents sit on a man-made sandy beach by the resort style pool. They play pickleball, tennis and bocce or head to the fitness room. But they also enjoy the perks of being at the end of the road. Perched on the edge of Bird Rookery Swamp and the CREW Wildlife Environmental Area, is Seasons by DR Horton.
The community recently opened three models: the Delray, Clifton and Jennings. On a recent afternoon, potential customers walked in and out of the Delray admiring the open spaces, the design flexibility and the size for the price.
“This is by far the best selling plan,” said Mike Bone sales manager. “So this plan is outselling all our other plans by 2 to 1.”
Jill Meeks, vice president of sales and marketing, says there is a good reason the Delray is so popular.
“The price and the home that you are getting,” Meeks began. “It can be four bedrooms, it can be three bedrooms. It is a ton of home for the money.”
The Delray is listed as a three bedroom plus flex room home. The flex room can become a fourth bedroom or can be used as a den, fitness room, playroom, art room and more.
“It is really versatile,” Meeks explained.
The home has two bathrooms and a two car garage and spans 2,034 square feet under air and a total of 2,738 square feet of space.
“The biggest thing is how light and bright and the sheer openness of it,” Bone described.
Jeff and Stephanie Rosen just moved into their Delray home at the Seasons. When they are not watching the snow in Ohio, they are settling into their beloved abode.
“The interior is simple, but it is perfect,” Jeff Rosen began. “The huge open space is what we loved. No matter where you are in it, you can look outside and have a great view. I do think it is perfect. There is nothing about it that I would change if I was to design it myself.”
Robin Lanuk and her husband moved into their Delray in September. She says the Delray is the perfect size.
“Being that there are only two of us, it has two bathrooms which is just enough for two people,” she said. “It is very roomy. When we have people over we have enough bedrooms to support the family, yet it is very roomy for just for the two of us.”
The interior designer gave the Delray a sophisticated theme with shades of gold, silver and bronze, while also adding some bling. For example, the king sized bed in the master bedroom has a simple taupe colored spread. Then glittery silver pillows were added along with extra-large shiny silver night stands. In the master bathroom a gold and silver sculpture in a geo shape hangs prominently on the wall.
The designer gave one guest room an owl theme propping owl designed pillows on the queen sized bed, owl pictures on the wall and statues on the nightstand. The second guest room has two twin beds decorated with shades of gold and sparkly silver. A gold circle sculpture on the wall continues that theme. The flex room in the model is set up as a den with an airplane theme. A plane propeller is the eye drawing element on the wall. There are also airplane photos on the walls along with an oversized newspaper article about the Wright Brothers. Prices for the Delray start at $417,000
The model recently won Best in Show in the Collier County Parade of Homes. (Although the Seasons is in Lee County, the Collier County Parade of Homes featured houses from Alico Road in South Fort Myers all the way through Naples to Marco Island.)
Visitors to the Seasons also walked through two other models. The Clifton is a two bedroom, plus flex room, two bathroom home that spans 1,818 square feet under air and a total of 2,466 square feet. The Clifton starts at $402,000. Like the Delray this model is for 50 foot lots.
The Jennings, on a 40 foot lot, spans just 1,600 square feet under air and has two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Starting price for the Jennings is $350,000. Bone said prices are expected to rise again in the next week. Meeks said buyers in the Seasons have nine floorplans to choose from with another five floorplans about to be introduced.
Jeff Rosen is looking forward to spending time in his Delray home and at the Seasons.
“I think part of it is Bonita Beach Road is such a huge ridden traffic area and the traffic is never that awful this far down,” he said. “You can be at the beach in 17 minutes and you never have to turn. It is kind of simple in a way. It has a nice feeling to it. It is not over the top, but the pool area is beautiful and the fitness area is nice. We didn’t want a place with condos. This is all single family. We like the amenities. What is spectacular is they have these lit fountains that at night are just gorgeous and they are all over the development.”
