Red, white and boom fireworks go out regardless of the weather

The city of Cape Coral is expected to fill up for Independence Day. After the cancellation of the festival by the pandemic last year, the red, white and boom have revived, but with some changes.

JC Park, a new spot for those who are concerned about congestion, has been added. There is more space to stretch away from the largest crowds and free up space. Head to the main spot and see all the fireworks on the Cape Coral Parkway at the foot of the Cape Coral Bridge. But you can still hear the show from Jacy Park.

The show is choreographed to music that you should be able to listen to everywhere. If you’re near the bridge, you can listen from the stage, and if you’re at Jacy Park, you can listen to it on your mobile phone from the app or radio.

Many people spoken by WINK News said they felt better about the extra space taking out their parents and grandparents on Sunday.

Jasmine Taber of North Fort Myers, who spends his time with his parents on July 4, said: “And people want to wear a mask at some point to make everything that’s happening safer.”

Joan Cornelison, a resident of Cape Coral, said: “If you go out … it wouldn’t be. I wanted to make it special because my grandchildren were coming from Illinois. See what happens.”

“I think it’s exciting,” said Yuliya Delgacheva, who lives in Cape Coral. “I’m glad to see it happening. I think it’s good for our community. I think we’re heading in the right direction. And that’s what we experienced last year. Is quite different and it is very depressing. “

Red, white, something else that might convince people to come out on the boom: a brand new food truck. Opportunity to support different types of food and local businesses that struggled or closed during this time last year. Some are credit cards only.

The festival starts at 5 pm and the fireworks start at 9:30 pm. What hasn’t changed: The event is free.
