West Palm Beach Fire Department Hosts 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb for Charity

WEST PALM BEACH, FL – On Sunday, Sept. 10, 2023, the West Palm Beach Fire Department is proud to host the 5th Annual 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb for charity. This event will take place at 515 N Flagler Drive, West Palm Beach, starting at 8:30 a.m., and will feature 325 dedicated participants who will pay tribute to the lives lost on Sept. 11, 2001.

The West Palm Beach Fire Department 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb is a solemn occasion to honor and remember the heroes and victims of the tragic events that unfolded on that fateful day. Participants will symbolically climb the equivalent of 110 stories, mirroring the harrowing ascent faced by first responders at the World Trade Center.

In addition to the stair climb, this year’s event promises an array of activities for participants and spectators. A CrossFit competition and a Golf scramble will provide entertainment and an opportunity for friendly competition, all with the shared goal of supporting two remarkable organizations: Pediatric Oncology Support Team (POST) and Operation 300.

The Pediatric Oncology Support Team (POST) provides vital assistance to children and families impacted by pediatric cancer, offering a beacon of hope during their challenging journey. Operation 300 extends support and mentorship to the children of fallen military members, ensuring they receive the guidance and care they deserve.

Last year’s event was a resounding success, with a remarkable $50,000 donated to local charities, making a significant impact on the lives of those in need within our community. This year, we aim to surpass that milestone and continue our tradition of giving back.

We invite members of the media, the community, and all those who wish to honor the memory of 9/11 and support these worthy causes to join us at 515 N Flagler Drive, West Palm Beach, on Sunday, Sept. 10, 2023, at 8:30 a.m.
