WHO:              West Palm Beach Mayor Keith A. James
                        City Commissioners
                        City Administrators

WHAT:             Mayor Keith A. James and City staff will announce a major element of this year’s Holiday in Paradise presented by FPL. This is a can’t-miss announcement related to one of the most well-known and notable local holiday celebrations, featuring Sandi Tree.

Notable items:

The press conference will announce the 2022 Holiday in Paradise theme in preparation for Sandi Tree’s return.

  • Holiday in Paradise is coming soon to the West Palm Beach waterfront featuring Sandi Tree, the world’s only 35-foot, 700-ton holiday sand tree, as the main star.
  • Sandi’s 11th annual return is expected to be the brightest yet, featuring an interactive, visually dynamic new and fun element.
  • Sandi’s synchronized music and light shows will run nightly on the quarter hour from 6 – 10 p.m. through December (except on days with scheduled special events) and will be extended on New Year’s Eve until midnight.

Media and the public should also save the date for the Clematis by Night Holiday Tree Lighting on Thursday, December 1 from 6 – 9 p.m. | Great Lawn | FREE

  • The kickoff to Holiday in Paradise, the Clematis by Night Holiday Tree Lighting features a momentous countdown to the start of the holiday season. The evening will include a live band, remarks from local leaders, a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus, a holiday shopping boutique in the Lake Pavilion and more.

WHEN:             Friday, November 4 at 10 a.m.

WHERE:           The press conference:

Great Lawn, 100 N. Clematis St. (at the northeast corner of N. Clematis St. and Flagler Dr.)

Holiday in Paradise activities in December:

The Great Lawn at 100 N. Clematis St. (unless otherwise noted)

WHY:               Holiday in Paradise was recognized in 2021 as the USA TODAY 10Best Readers’ Choice for “Best Public Holiday Lights Display.” The recognition was “the cherry on top” of Sandi’s 10th birthday celebration. The press conference on November 4 will continue the momentum by announcing the return of Sandi Tree and a notable special surprise – this is a not-to-be-missed announcement!
