What is a budget? Why is it important and how is one created? Join the Miami Emerging Arts Leaders and budgeting expert John Safranek for a deep dive into the basics of budgeting for nonprofit cultural organizations. John will layout the important aspects of creating a yearly operating budget. The presentation will also explore other types of budgets that non-profit administrators need to be familiar with; such as, capital budgets, and grant program budgets.
John Safranek has spent the last 25+ years in the nonprofit cultural arts space as a senior level executive providing strategic leadership to nonprofit cultural institutions. He has worked with some of the largest cultural organizations in South Florida such as the Norton Museum of Art, the Pérez Art Museum Miami, National YoungArts Foundation, and Miami City Ballet. As a consultant, he focuses on financial and operational management in museums and other cultural organizations.
All are welcome and the session will be followed by a Q&A.
