Mayor Keith A. James Appoints Melissa Anderson as the LGBTQ+ Liaison
WEST PALM BEACH, FL — West Palm Beach Mayor Keith A. James is pleased to announce the appointment of Melissa Anderson as the Mayor’s LGBTQ+ liaison. In this role, Ms. Anderson will serve as a resource for Mayor James and the public in advocating for LGBTQ+ issues and concerns and in promoting diversity, inclusion and equality in West Palm Beach.
Ms. Anderson is the senior assistant city attorney and is proud to work for a City which embraces and supports the LGBTQ+ community.
Ms. Anderson was born in Fort Lauderdale and has spent most of her life living and practicing law in South Florida. She attended Fort Lauderdale High School and obtained both her undergraduate and juris doctorate degrees from the University of Florida. She is a West Palm Beach resident with her 12-year-old daughter. Ms. Anderson came out at 17 years old as a lesbian and has been an ‘out and proud’ member of the LGBTQ+ community since that time.
Ms. Anderson succeeds former LGBTQ+ Liaison Rudolph R. Galindo.
