This Saturday, Foreign Secretary Marcelo Ebrard visited Xalapa, on the first of his two-day trip to Veracruz.

He held a working lunch with students, business executives, chamber representatives and social leaders. During the meeting, he highlighted the infrastructure improvements made in Veracruz during the administration of President López Obrador, which, in addition to the nearshoring of companies from Asia, means that Veracruz is one of the Mexican states with the best opportunities for attracting foreign investment in the short term.

The Foreign Secretary said, “At this time, there are 16 foreign companies interested” in investing and setting up business in Veracruz.

At a later event, he presented his book “El Camino de México” to an audience of 800 people.

Foreign Secretary Ebrard ended his activities on Saturday by meeting with Veracruz Governor Cuitláhuac García, to whom he reaffirmed the desire of the Foreign Ministry to support the state’s development and international outreach.
