Our mother, Gwendolyn Maxine Walters, age 95, surrounded by loving family members, peacefully passed into the gates of heaven in Orlando, Florida on April 11, 2021. Surviving her are her six children: Bill, Rama (Rusty), Gayle, Jan, Tracy, and Mary. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willis Wade Walters Jr. Gwen was born in November of 1925 in Nocatee, FL near the banks of the Peace River in south Florida. She eventually moved to Apopka, Florida, where she graduated from high school and met and married Wade in 1947. Gwen was a loving mother of six children and made her home of about 70 years in the Dubsdread area in College Park. A homemaker in her children’s early lives, she later worked in life insurance sales. She had seventeen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren who visited regularly. She was a faithful long-time member of the College Park Baptist Church. In her retirement years she took up watercolor painting and played a mean game of golf. She and her husband Wade enjoyed many fun road trips around the State of Florida checking out the best BBQ joints before he passed away in 2005.
