Firefighters save dog from burning Cape Coral home


CAPE CORAL, Fla. – Firefighters saved a dog from inside a burning Cap Coral home Friday afternoon.

Crews responded to the fire in the 4100 block of SW 6th Place, according to the Cape Coral Fire Department.

When they arrived on scene, one of the people inside the home at the time the fire started was trying to get inside to find the dog.

Firefighters said were able to get Kevin the dog from inside the home safely.

There was heavy smoke in the home as well as an extensive fire in the attic, Cape Coral fire said. The home is unlivable, but firefighters were able to protect most of the contents.

No one was injured, fire crews confirmed. The cause is under investigation.
