Car overturns, woman ejected in fatal crash in Collier

According to Florida Highway Patrol, a woman has died after being ejected from a car during a crash. This happened along Westclox Street in Immokalee just after 6 p.m. on Sunday.

A man, 24, was driving the car and the woman, also 24, was riding the passenger seat. The driver was approaching a curve while traveling east on Westclox.

He took the turn incorrectly and the car traveled off of the roadway, hit vegetation and overturned. It landed on its roof.

The woman was ejected from the vehicle. FHP says she was not wearing a seatbelt.

The woman was taken to the hospital and was later pronounced dead.

The Florida Highway Patrol no longer releases the names of those involved in crashes, citing Marsy’s Law.
