The Argentine Republic once again strongly condemns the recent ballistic missile launch by North Korea towards the Sea of Japan, from an area near the eastern coastal city of Wonsan.

This is a new act of hostility and provocation against the international community which overtly violates international obligations arising from United Nations Security Council Resolutions 1718 (2006), 1874 (2009), 2087 (2013), 2094 (2013), 2270 (2016), 2321 (2016), 2345 (2017), 2356 (2017), 2371 (2017), 2375 (2017) and 2397 (2017), which address the North Korean missile and nuclear programmes.

Argentina once again urges the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea to promptly comply with these Resolutions and end these systematic hostile acts in the region, which constitute a threat to international peace and security.
