Foreign Minister Susana Malcorra signed today in Berlin, within the framework of President Macri’s visit to Germany, a number of bilateral agreements aimed at promoting joint work in cooperation activities in the fields of technology, economy, trade and investment.
The documents signed include the following:
– Declaration for economic cooperation between the Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy of Germany and the Argentine-German Chamber of Industry and Commerce, signed by Foreign Minister Malcorra and Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy and Vice-Chancellor Sigmar Gabriel.
Apart from establishing guidelines to conduct joint work in the relevant fields and create channels for dialogue between business sector representatives from both countries, this document is an important sign by the fourth largest world economy to its business sector and to the world of its intention to strengthen complementary work with Argentina.
– Declaration on scientific, technological and innovation cooperation signed by Foreign Minister Malcorra and State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Education and Research Georg Schütte.
– Declaration on social security cooperation, signed by Foreign Minister Malcorra and State Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Labour, Yasmin Fahimi.
– Declaration on scientific and technological cooperation in the field of bioeconomics, signed by Foreign Minister Malcorra and Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy and Vice-Chancellor Sigmar Gabriel.
In addition, Malcorra participated in the working meeting held today between the Argentine President and the German Chancellor, Angela Merkel. She also accompanied President Macri in his meeting with Daniel Barenboim, Music Director of the Berlin State Opera.
