Information for the Press N°:

Argentine Foreign Minister Susana Malcorra and Israeli Ambassador to Argentina Ilán Avigdor Sztulman signed a Bilateral Agreement on Air Services between the Argentine Republic and the State of Israel.

“There will be a significant increase in flights in both directions, thus strengthening bonds between two like-minded cultures. This is part of our strategy to connect to the world,” Malcorra noted.

The agreement creates a legal framework between the governments and will contribute to progress in matters pertaining to civil aviation. It will allow us to establish and explore flight services bilaterally and to other countries. This will provide a high level of safety operationally and in international air transport.

The Minister of Transport of Argentina, Guillermo Dietrich, added: “We welcome this first step aimed at reaching a codeshare agreement between Israel and Argentina through companies El-Al and Aerolíneas Argentinas. One of the main goals of this government is to further connect Argentines and foster the growth of Aerolíneas Argentinas, as part of our plan to develop air transport and promote tourism, which is central to the growth of our country.”

The Agreement was made possible by the excellent relations that exist between aeronautical authorities, in addition to the historical bonds between both countries. It will be supplemented by the signature of a Memorandum of Understanding which will enable the immediate operation of scheduled flights by designated airlines.
