City of West Palm Beach Community Redevelopment Agency Hosts Styx Promenade Open House Event
WEST PALM BEACH, FL – The City of West Palm Beach Community Redevelopment (CRA) Agency is currently accepting proposals for the purchase of the two remaining Styx Promenade properties and will be hosting an Open House event on Saturday, Oct. 21, 2023, from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., behind the properties located at 634 7th Street West Palm Beach, FL 33401.
Attendees will be able to attend a presentation that outlines the proposal process, followed by property tours. Current Styx Business Owners will be in attendance as well as business resources and will have bites and refreshments to try the savory soul food and deserts restaurant to come next door by Gregory Eaton called Eat’n Cakes. Anyone interested in attending should RSVP to the CRA at cra@wpb.org.
The CRA would prefer these properties be occupied by businesses that will serve or be compatible with the neighborhood, such as retail, personal services, health and wellness, restaurant or office uses; and, the use must comply with City Zoning regulations and Code requirements. The properties are zoned NWDRC-1. The CRA will pay for Zoning confirmation.
The properties must be owner-occupied for a period of five (5) years. The buyer will be required to execute a restrictive covenant.
Proposals to purchase a property must be received by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2023. Proposals received after the deadline will not be considered.
IMPORTANT: Contact by a proposer (or anyone representing a proposer) regarding these properties or the conveyance of these properties with the Mayor of West Palm Beach, any City Commissioner, any CRA Board Member, or any City employee other than an employee of the West Palm Beach Community Redevelopment Agency, will be grounds for disqualification from consideration of the violator’s proposal. This restriction will remain in effect until the CRA executes both purchase and sale agreements.
The CRA reserves the right to reject all proposals, to re-notice the property, or to retain the property for the CRA’s future use, and to take any other action deemed to be in the best interest of the CRA and the City of West Palm Beach as provided by statute. No proposal shall be considered accepted until a written contract is executed by the proposer and the CRA.
To learn more about the properties, timeline, and how to prepare for the proposal, please visit the website at www.wpb.org/styxproject or contact the CRA at cra@wpb.org.
